The monument is an enormous bronze statue, on a pyramidal base. The monument is in the middle of a cobblestone traffic circle, and is part of a recreational centre formed by the Nundehui Planetarium, the Astronomical Observatory of Oaxaca and Guelaguetza Auditorium. A panoramic view of the city and Central Valleys of Oaxaca can be contemplated from here.
Location
Cerro del Fortin (Fortin Hill) is approximately 1.2 miles (2 kilometres) north-west of Oaxaca City. The Juárez monument is on the south side of the hill, next to Guelaguetza Auditorium. Estimated travelling time: 5 min.
